Safeguarding
We take our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare and wellbeing of all the children entrusted to our care very seriously. We have a safeguarding team, made up of appropriately trained staff, who will be happy to discuss any safeguarding or child protection concerns or queries you may have. All staff receive regular training in line with the latest statutory guidance, including Keeping children safe in education 2026: September 2026 (KCSIE).
Our school is a community and all those directly connected (staff, governors, parents, families and pupils) have an essential role to play in making it safe and secure. We are committed to making every check and asking every question, however awkward, to ensure the safety and protection of the children in our care.
We recognise the importance of providing a school culture and environment that helps children feel safe, secure and respected; confident to approach trusted adults and talk openly; and enable them to feel assured that they will be listened to and their concerns and questions acted on. We work closely with families and external agencies, where appropriate, to safeguard and promote the well-being of all pupils. We also welcome any suggestions and comments that will contribute to the process.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) has lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school, supported by our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs). They provide advice and support to staff, respond to safeguarding concerns and work closely with children, families and external agencies where appropriate.
