Home Learning

Number

It is important that you practise your times tables and number bonds on Numbots for 10 minutes each day at home. You can do this by logging onto your accounts. Your logins are in your Reading Records.

Spellings

The spellings that the children will be tested on for the term are sent home and will be split into weeks so that you know which ones your child will be tested on each week. You will need to spend the week practising to spell those words, using the strategies which the children will learn in class. We will have a spelling quiz every Friday and the scores will be written in their reading records to take home and show an adult after each quiz. Spelling Shed is also a great way to practise -  5 games a week.

Reading

Each child will have a school reading book to take home and enjoy every week. When reading at home, you can read to yourself, an adult or another member of you family. Each time you read at home, write a comment in your reading record and get it signed by an adult so that we can tick off your chart and you can win prizes!

You should aim to read for 15 minutes every day. Your book will be changed once a week and reviewed by an adult to see you are reading every day.

Reading Records

You will need to bring your reading record into school every day and take it home with you. When you come into school, it is important that you put your reading record into the reading box.

Termly Projects

Each term, a creative project grid will be assigned to you. This grid will contain a range of creative tasks linked to our termly topic. You will need to complete at least one of these projects per term. If you would like to do more, then please feel free. These be handed in as and when they are completed. We will have opportunities to share our creations with the class and the children will receive Dojo points for completed home learning. You can hand in your termly project in person to a class adult or send pictures to the office email address.
