Term 4- Animals
Our topic in term four is 'Animals'. In the this topic, we will be learning about different animals, their habitats, differences in how they survive, and how we can care for them. This project enhances and targets children's curiosity, and support them in learning about the wider world and beautiful animals within. In this term, we will have our very own caterpillars, which we will care for and watch how they grow in to butterflies. It is always a highlight of the term when we realise them in our garden.
Supporting your child at home
- Explore with your child an animal that they may be interest in, and learn about what it needs to thrive in whichever environment it lives in.
- Go on your own Minibeast Hunt. We would love to see these on Tapestry.
- Allow children to help with caring for and feeding pets, explaining why it is important to feed them certain foods, and take them on walks and allow them to exercise.
- Share and discuss how to care for any pets that you might have. We would love to see some pictures of your children and their pets on Tapestry.
- Explore how some animals change as they grow i.e. caterpillars changing to butterflies, tadpoles growing into frogs
