Term 5- Growing

Our topic in term five is 'Growing' and we will be learning about how people and plants grow. We will plant, grow and care for our own plants in our garden, and explore what we need to do to help them grow big and strong. We will look at our own baby pictures, and explore some key stages that children progress through in order to grow into adults. We will look at how to live a healthy lifestyle, deepening our understand of how to maintain a healthy diet to support our personal growth. By the end of the term the children will be encouraged to make meaningful links to their learning from the 'All About Me' topic, exploring their physical and emotional growth.

Supporting your child at home

  • Share and discuss how they have grown physically and emotionally since birth. We'd love to see some baby pictures on Tapestry so we can use these are starters for discussions in class!
  • Plant some seeds with your children at home, and help them to take responsibility for watering and caring for them.
  • Encourage children to make active decisions regarding meal times, and help them to understand whether their choices are healthy or unhealthy, and why.
